One of the most special -and rare- coffees comes from Sumatra. The sixth largest island in the world, with a climate and altitude more than extraordinary for the cultivation of coffee.
Cultivated in the Bukit Barisan mountains at 1500m above sea level on volcanic soils, known for its smooth and heavy body. Sumatra Mandheling is a coffee known for its unique, intense and deep flavor profile, characterized by notes of dark chocolate, cedar wood and tobacco. Spicy notes of cardamom, clove and hints of tropical fruits can also be found.
The production of this coffee is carried out in more than 90% by small farmers, in farms of around one hectare in size.
